We are all children of the ancient Greeks and Romans



Aims of the project:
1. Integration of student communities of the participating schools, by identifying the common roots of European culture across religious, political and ethnic boundaries.
2. Stimulate students’ interest in learning through an innovative approach to the topics under discussion (searching for new tools, improving the ability to work with sources, research and selection of information using modern technology).
3. Increasing the social activity of students.
4. The exchange of experiences between teachers involved in the project and dissemination of examples of good practice.
5. The fight against stereotypes and prejudices as well as shaping the attitudes of openness and tolerance towards other nations, ethnic and religious communities.
6. Developing knowledge related to the heritage of European civilization antiquity. 
7. The synthesis of knowledge from different fields which is conducive to developing the skills of practical application of theoretical knowledge.


We assume that English will be the language of the project. Project duration –one year. Communication between partners, including students participating in various project activities will be carried out electronically. We assume a monthly cycle of progress reporting. Students shall form project groups, which will deal with specific tasks agreed on by partners. Groups of students from different countries, responsible for the same activity, will communicate with each other. Each partner will perform three obligatory tasks:
1. XI.2015 – debates on democracy will take place in the higher grades 
2. III.2016 - exhibition of ancient inventions.
3. We will organize an international competition about knowledge of antiquity, which will be held simultaneously in our schools in April of 2016.
In addition, participants can prepare:
1. Sports competitions modeled after the Olympic Games.
2. A set of board games relating to antiquity.
3. Theater play - one performance with national adaptation.


1. Students involved in the project shall deepen their knowledge of the history of Greece and Rome and the community of European heritage.
2. The proposed activities will enhance the activation of students (they shall be able to have an impact on the form and extent of such activities and methods of their implementation).
3. Teachers shall exchange experiences and examples of good practice.
4. Pupils and teachers shall gain experience and will establish relationships useful for future international projects.
5. The project reports and materials shall be published on a specially designed website, which will be accessible to other people interested in the subject (history test, the scenario of a theater play, the outcome of debates, sports competition rules, examples of board games).
6. Inclusion of the project topic into the curriculum in each of the participating schools will help to increase awareness of our common heritage.
